“Learn To Be A Tree”

Learn to Be a Tree first started as a simple poem written in a Creative Writing class Simran took in her second year. It wasn’t until her third year when Simran was taking a Book Illustration class that she dusted this poem of out her archives to illustrate for a double page spread. Her original piece used soft pastel colours but Simran felt that this colour palette didn’t speak the volumes she wanted for her poem. So, after pushing the boundaries of her comfort zone she experimented with the extreme opposite colour palette to produce this incredibly vibrant and lively piece.
